The Quran lays light in the
lowest place in the world Romans
In the early seventh century , the two most powerful empires of the time were the Byzantines [The Arabs also refer to the Byzantines as the Romans] and the Persian Empire. In 613-614 CE the two empires went to war with the Byzantines suffered a severe defeat at the hands of the Persians. Damascus and Jerusalem fell to the Persian Empire. In the chapter, the Romans, in the Quran , it is said that the Byzantines had met a great defeat but would soon win: Romans
" The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land, but after their defeat , will overcome . Within three to nine years . Decision of the matter, before and after , it is with God . " ( Qur'an 30:2-4 ) Romans lowest
These verses were revealed around 620 CE, almost 7 years after the severe defeat of Christian Byzantium idolatrous Persians in 613-614 CE , however, was related in the verses that the Byzantines would soon be victorious. In fact, Byzantine had been so badly beaten that it seemed impossible for the Empire to maintain even its very existence , let alone win again. Romans
Not only the Persians, but also Avars , Slavs and Lombards ( located north and west of the Byzantine Empire ) has posed a serious threat to the sovereignty of the Byzantine Empire. The Avars had reached the walls of Constantinople and captured by the emperor. Many governors had revolted against Emperor Heraclius , and the empire was on the verge of collapse. Romans
Mesopotamia , Syria , Palestine , Egypt and Armenia , which had previously belonged to the Byzantine Empire , was invaded by the Persians. In short , everyone expects the Byzantine Empire to be destroyed, but just then , the first verses of the chapter, the Romans, were revealed announcing that the Byzantines would regain triumph in a few years. Shortly after this revelation, the Byzantine emperor decided to order the gold and silver in churches to be melted and turned into money at the same time to meet demanding military spending to finance its desire to regain lost territory . About 7 years after the revelation of the first verses of Romans , in December 627 CE, a decisive battle between the Byzantine Empire and the Persian Empire was held in the Dead Sea region , [The History of Persia Part I: Ancient Persia by Scott Peoples] and is time ' was the Byzantine army which surprisingly defeated the Persians . A few months later , the Persians had to come to terms with the Byzantines which obliged to return the territories they had taken from them. So, in the end, the victory of the Romans proclaimed by God in the Qur'an miraculously came . Romans lowest
Another miracle revealed in the above verses is the announcement of a geographical fact that no one could discover in this period. In the third verse of Romans , it was mentioned that the Romans have been defeated " in the weaker countries " (Quran 30:3 ) . Significantly , where major battles took place ( in Damascus and Jerusalem ) are in a vast lowland area called the Great Rift Valley The Great Rift Valley is a great fault line of 5000 km in the crust land that runs from northern Syria in the Middle - . East Asia to central Mozambique in East Africa extension. north through Syria, Lebanon , Palestine and Jordan. the gap then extends south to the Gulf of Aden , is passing through East Africa , and finally ends in the lower valley of the Zambezi River in Mozambique. Interestingly, it has recently been discovered , with the help of satellite images is that the area around the Dead Sea (located in the Great Rift Valley ) has the lowest elevation on Earth. In fact, the lowest point on Earth is the shore of the Dead Sea at an altitude of about 400 meters [(http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2000/SanjeevMenon.shtml)] below sea level. That is at the lowest point means that no water flows from the sea. No point of land on Earth to a lower altitude edge of the Dead Sea . Therefore, it is clear that the country or province that occupies the Rift Valley near the Dead Sea is what is meant in the Qur'an as " the lowest earth. " This is a miracle of the Qur'an , because no knew or expected that act in the seventh century , due to the fact that satellites and modern technology of today were not available at the time . Again, the only possible explanation is that the Prophet Muhammad had truly received divine revelation from God , the Creator and the Creator of the universe. Romans
